Briar Chapel, Chatman County, Chapel Hill NC
Briar Chapel is a relatively new neighborhood in Chapel Hill, NC. It is outside of Chapel Hill and Carrboro. Originally opened in 2008, it has quickly become a hot neighborhood. With a 15-minute drive down Highway 15-501 that takes you directly into downtown Chapel Hill, it is a great bedroom community for UNC Hospital and UNC-Chapel Hill staff. Comprising 1,600 acres, with an astonishing 2,400 homes and 1,200 acres of open space, it is a great livable community.
One feature that sets Briar Chapel apart is the 2-mile Briar Chapel Parkway, which is protected from development and contains woods and trails full of bike trails, walking trails, and more.
Briar Chapel is one of the most affordable neighborhoods in Chapel Hill. The variety of builders in Briar Chapel has resulted in a mix of regional, national, and custom home builders, creating a unique community.
The Briar Chapel clubhouse is LEED Gold certified and certified by the National Green Building Standards Program. All homes in Briar Chapel must have a minimum bronze level certification.
